Balance - restrictions the game puts on modules/ships to make the game fair IE I want to probe people out, balance - its gonna cost you 220 CPU a high slot and some time
Counter - something another player can do to prevent you from doing what you want to do IE I want to probe people out, Counter - you fit a cloak; I want to MWD around, counter - you fit a warp scrambler;
I understand the balance to the cloak, it decreases scan resolution, takes a high slot, makes you slow, has a sensor recalibration timer etc. I get it.
What I don't get is the counter. . . What can I do to prevent someone from AFK cloaking in my system? . . . I don't think there is anything. . . And I don't think there is anything else in the game like that. . . If there is please list them
What I propose is a new T2 tier 2 battlecruiser IE Drake, myrmadon etc. It would have a method for finding the cloaked ship off grid; I'm thinking this would take like 15 minutes and the closest warp in you could get would be 50 k from the cloaked ship. You couldn't bookmark the spot from the scan and you can't fleet warp there, it would only give you the option to warp to.
The counter to this would be to MOVE every 10 minutes or so This would not totally ruin cloaking, it would just nerf AFK cloaking if you're not at the computer or people who got lazy/sloppy
Remember, this is eve-online not eve-whileigomakelunch
Great Idea, I think the skills required to pilot these ships should be BC lvl 5, spaceship command lvl 5, Covert Ops lvl 4, etc. Some skill requirements like the heavy assault ships or command ships. And that the modules require a rank 10 skill or some other skills before you can use it, something like the Analyzer or Code Breaker module skill requirements. And even with all that it should be difficult to find with scans during 5-10min. That way only a few would have the skills and ships to track down cloacky ships, and the user can counter by moving. I don't see it as a bad idea.
